Peter Firstbrook

Firstbrook has ten years experience at Gartner and ten years IT industry experience. Prior to joining Gartner, Firstbrook spent eight years as a Senior Research analyst at META Group. Firstbrook's career also included financial analyst/marketing director positions at Syndication monitors as well as a database/network administrator for Yorkminister Financial.

L. Frank Kenney
Research Director Application Development & Integration
Gartner
Kenney has seven years experience at Gartner and fifteen years IT industry experience. Prior to joining Gartner, Kenney spent four years at Platinum Productions as a creative services & media distribution manager and three years in franchisee network administration at Executive Business Group. Kenney's career also included technical support and new media consulting at Applied Media Technologies.

Gordon Jones
formerly CIO of Franklin Templeton Group, CIO of Toysrus.com, CIO of Novell, and VP of IT for eBay
Jones draws on over 30 years global IT experience in large and small technology companies. In the past several years, he has overseen IT and Engineering at Billpoint, then a subsidiary of eBay and Wells Fargo. Jones has also served as CIO for the Franklin Templeton Group, the fifth largest mutual fund company and also served as CIO & CTO of Toysrus.com, as well as CIO of Novell for 5 years during the company's explosive growth period when it was the world's leading computer networking company.

Christian Christiansen
Program Vice President, Security Products and Services group

Christiansen conducts in-depth primary research and provides insight and analysis on a variety of evolving security markets. Christiansen delivers critical market intelligence to technology vendors, IT professionals, and the financial community. His areas of expertise include, firewalls, encryption, anti-virus software, 3A (authentication, administration, and authorization) software, intrusion detection and vulnerability assessment, and security management. Prior to his current position with IDC, Christiansen was director of IDC's Asset Management service. He also worked for IDC’s Worldwide Commercial Systems group. Before joining IDC, Christiansen founded Meta Group’s Midrange Service and consulted extensively with large users. He is a regular speaker at many industry conferences worldwide.

Michael D. Osterman

Osterman Research, Inc.
Osterman is the principal of Osterman Research, Inc., founded in 2001. Since that time, the company has become one of the leading analyst firms in the messaging and collaboration space, providing research, analysis, white papers and other services to companies like Microsoft, America Online, Sun Microsystems, Yahoo!, Network Appliance, Iron Mountain, Tumbleweed, Hewlett Packard and many others. Osterman is a frequent speaker at industry and vendor-sponsored events on the topics of archiving, instant messaging, presence and other messaging- and collaboration-focused issues. He is also the author of a twice weekly column on unified communications issues for Network World Fusion.
